A 22-year-old man wanted on a felony warrant was arrested Monday morning in Beaverton.

Beaverton police said at around 8:36 a.m. an officer observed a driver commit a pedestrian violation at the intersection of Southwest Allen and Southwest Main and performed a traffic stop on the vehicle.

When officers contacted the driver, he lied about his identity. Officers positively identified him as Rafael Tovar-Juarez and learned that he had a felony warrant for his arrest out of Washington County Circuit Court for failing to appear on a first-degree forgery charge.

According to police, officers found a loaded firearm concealed in Tovar-Juarez's waistband. Police said he is not allowed to possess a firearm due to his criminal history.

Tovar-Juarez was arrested and booked into the Washington County Jail on charges of felon in possession of a firearm, carrying a concealed weapon, providing false information to a police officer, and the felony warrant.
